This city is far away from Prague, almost 4 hours with car, if you have not traffic jam. So if you need go to Ostrava to business meeting like me, the best way is to catch train “Pendolino” which is going to Ostrava in three hours. The first one is starting from Prague in 5:23 and you sould catch first metro (it start in 4:45). Then you will be in Ostrava in cca 8:30. It is rally good that the train stops just in few train station (Prague m.s. – Pardubice – Olomouc – Ostrava–Svinov – Ostrava m.s.).
I have been in Nymburk near the Prague. It is 45 kilometers from Prague, and Nymburk is on the river Labe. Look to the photos of Nymburk.
There is a memorial place with photos and message about Michael Jackson at the Vencels Square in Prague.
We have visited this town at Saturday. This historical city has rich history, because there were silver mines. So there is the second biggest cathedral in the Czech Republic, the Cathedral of st. Barbora who is patron of miners.
This weekend I have been on the Karlštejn. It is really good tip for tourist. There are good connection with train from mail train station, may be 45 minutes whit train, and then you have to go 2 KM from train station to the Karlštejn castle. And the train is gong each 40 minutes. There are two tour firs one is shorter for 250Kc and second one is now closed and it is for 500Kc.
There are a lot of shops, nice restaurants. You can make nice photos and see part of our history focusing to Charles IV.
